Christmas Decor

by Paper House
Hello! Samantha here with you today. I love creating Christmas decor for my house every year. Sometimes I create something intricate and fussy and sometimes I keep it clean and simple, but it’s always a lot of to add something hand made to my Christmas decor.

Supplies: Christmas Joy Craft Set OR Christmas Magic Cardstock Multipack, Peace Joy and Love Double Sided Paper, and Christmas Joy Double Sided Foil Scrapbook Paper

As you can see, this time I decided to go with a clean and simple decor piece with a simple phrase.

One of my favorite things to do is to take what is currently popular or trendy and incorporate it into my own style. Farmhouse style decor is everywhere right now. For this sign I was inspired by the wood framed white word signs with black lettering that you see in almost every store (and lots of homes). I copied the words in two coordinating fonts on an almost solid colored background.

I decided to use the phrase “A thrill of hope”, but phrases like “Deck the Halls”, “Mistletoe & Co.”, “Joy to the World” or “Silent Night” would work really well, too.

I used 2 different patterned papers that are in contrasting colors, but have the same all over snowflake pattern. The cream letters on the red background have a similar feel to the black letters on a white background. The subtle snowflake pattern on the paper adds a little bit of dimension and interest to the sign (and mixing patterned papers is a nod to my style).

I finished up by dotting my “i” with a snowflake sticker and adding a few gold star stickers.

My finished sign is about 10″ x 12″.
