Wedding Memories

Posted on Dec 24, 2015 9:00:00 AM

Hello all, Irit here! Lately, the only layouts I make are my dear daughter's wedding ones. I just made six of them... the photos are great and need to be scrapped. So today, I am going to share two more layouts made with those wedding photos and ColorWays' new colors. The first one was made with the Orchid Collection, and I made the mixed media background over the patterned paper with some stamps, stencils, and homemade mists.

Orchid1

First, I made the arrows with white Gelato and then made pink and blue homemade mists using Gelatos and FC tools (mist bottles). Then, I made stamped circles, added some Love words inside, and colored them with Gelatos again.

orchid2

orchid3

This is a fine example of making a mixed media background over a patterned dark paper. As you can see, the results can be unusual and pretty.

Product Used:

Paper House Orchid ColorWays "Lanterns"

Paper House Orchid ColorWays "Dark Bokeh"

Paper House Orchid ColorWays Accent Pack

Paper House Adore Puffy Stickers

Stencils - ArtPlorations

Paints - Gelatos from FC DMC

Stamps - StampPlorations

Ink - Clearsnap

Embossing powder - Clearsnap

The second wedding layout is made with the Gatsby Collection, and, again, I decided to "remake" the background by adding some stenciled circles using clear molding paste with glitter all over it. I used one big color photo and three more black and white wedding photos to make the photo cluster, and I made a big embellishment with a title cluster on the top of the page.

I think this ColorWays Collection is just perfect for wedding photos! I will add more of those to my daughter's wedding album in the near future.

Product Used:

Paper House Gatsby ColorWays "Gilded Door"

Paper House Gatsby ColorWays "Glamour"

Paper House Believe Puffy Stickers

Paper House Gatsby ColorWays Accent Pack

Stencils - ARTplorations

Planner Craze

Posted on Dec 17, 2015 4:48:04 PM

Hello everyone, Christine joining you today. Have you jumped into the Planner Craze? I just recently got started in it! The more I played, decorated, and had fun with it, the more I realized how great some of my Paper House supplies would be. Specifically, I knew that the ColorWays collections would be fabulous! Today, I will show you how I used the Rouge, Emerald, and Sapphire ColorWays collections to jazz up three weeks of my planner.

Rouge PlannerOne of the things I like to do in my planner is add patterned paper rectangles to any parts of the day that I have free. I can write over them later if I need to, but I like the visual break from all the writing and the visual reminder that I have a break there to focus on myself and my family. For each week, I used the border sheet from the collection as a separator for my morning, afternoon, and evening rows. I love the polished look this adds.

rouge planner2

Since this week is heavy on Christmas activities, I added in some great cardstock stickers. They were a perfect match with the Rouge collection. Perhaps my favorite addition is the SnapShots™ stickers to the days! For this week, I used both music and basketball ones. These are absolutely perfect and are going to find a way into my weeks very regularly!

rouge planner3

I also added in some puffy stickers. This is a judgement call, as they do add bulk, but I liked how they looked, so I decided I wanted them in there!

On this week’s planner spread, I used the following supplies:

Rouge Trimmings ColorWays Cardstock

Rouge Umbrellas Cardstock

Rouge Trim Cards Cardstock

Christmas Stocking Puffy Sticker

Santa Hats Puffy Sticker

Merry Christmas Cardstock Stickers

Music SnapShots™ Sticker

Basketball SnapShots™ Sticker

For the next week, I used Emerald ColorWays—perfect for Christmas week!

emerald planner

I added in a few pops of red with more of the Merry Christmas cardstock stickers. I love how calm and empty this week looks—that’s just how it should be!

emerald planner 2

I used the same approach, filling in grids with patterned papers and using the borders. This time, though, I added in some accents from the Emerald ColorWays collection.

emerald planner4

When I don’t have a long checklist to add in the left hand column, I just have fun decorating it! Some Christmas patterned papers, combined with some Sculpted™ stickers, were perfect for this area!

emerald planner3

For this week, all my empty grids are filled with the same patterned paper. I haven’t done that before—I usually switch it up, but I like this look, too!

Supplies used for this week:

Emerald Accent Pack

Emerald Trimmings Scrapbook Paper

Emerald Leatherbound Scrapbook Paper

Merry Christmas Cardstock Stickers

Christmas Cheer Tags Scrapbook Paper

Red Flannel Scrapbook Paper

Merry & Bright Sculpted™ Sticker

For my last week, I was planning to use Gatsby, because Gatsby just screams New Year’s Eve, right? But it wasn’t flowing well with the colors that my planner already had. So I went with Sapphire and was so happy I did! It came out beautifully and has that fresh feeling of a new year! sapphire

This time, I returned to the varying patterned papers in my empty grids and brought back those SnapShots™!

sapphire planner2

The Sapphire accents played a pretty big role on this spread. The arrows were great for pointing towards New Year’s Eve and Day, and of course the word “hope” is just perfect for what you feel at that point in the year!

sapphire planner3

The Urban SnapShots™ Stickers were so perfect for this week! I have definitely got an even bigger love for my SnapShots™ now!

Supplies used for this week:

Sapphire Trimmings Scrapbook Paper

Sapphire Edgings Scrapbook Paper

Sapphire Mini Trim Cards Scrapbook Paper

Sapphire Accent Pack

Urban SnapShots™ Stickers

I hope you are looking at your Paper House supplies in a new light—there are so many great options for your planners! I can’t wait to dive into other areas to see what I can add!

Gorgeous Gift Tags

Posted on Dec 10, 2015 8:56:02 AM

Hi there, Karen here today to share some little tag-shaped cards. Actually, they are the perfect size to be used as a gift card holder. The ColorWays line coordinates so easily that when you are using a sketch, they come together in no time at all. Keep this gem of an idea in your back pocket just in case you need that last minute holiday gift.

Directions:
1. Follow the tag sketch by Scrapbook Generation in CREATE Magazine (Debbie Sanders - September 2015)

sketch

2. Cut a piece of cardstock for the tag base and select two coordinating papers for the circle and bunting shape.

3. Next, arrange the sentiment and embellish the tag with puffy stickers, diecut shapes, gems, etc.

4. Finally, punch a hole through the center of the top of the tag. Add a bow or tie a piece of ribbon through the hole.

TIP: Use design sketches for inspiration, but don't feel restricted to follow them exactly. For the black tag, I reversed the sketch. My placement of embellishments was also different from the sketch because the sentiment took up more space. Some elements of the design you may choose to completely leave off. Use the sketch as a guide but let your creativity flow to make it your own creation.

Make Your Own Envelope!

Posted on Dec 7, 2015 9:43:49 AM

Hello everyone, Francesca here!

Today I want to show you one of my favorite envelopes... the policy envelope!

Envelopes- Francesca Biancon

I love to use this size; it’s lovely and original. If you want to make one, you can follow the attached layout. Just print it like this without changes, or you can reduce or enlarge, as you prefer.

Envelopes- Francesca Biancon

In this particular case, you need only 8x8 paper! I used the beautiful green papers of the Emerald ColorWays Collection; I love how bright the colors are.

For the first one, I simply added the puffy stickers.

For the second one, I glued paper flowers and added a SnapShots™ sticker.

The card inside of both is very simple: a SnapShots™ sticker and ink splatters. I love this effect!

America's Pastime

Posted on Nov 19, 2015 8:54:28 AM

Hello everyone, it's Erin here today with a fun baseball-themed layout. The first season my boys played baseball, they both ended up playing for the Dodgers, which made it easy to share hats, socks, and belts if needed (which we did need a couple of times)! For their first time playing, they did amazing! I used the awesome Paper House papers and stickers to complete this layout, full of such dimension and depth—perfect for your masculine layouts!

baseball 1

I started with a base of Paper House Noir Stencil Grit and the backside of Paper House Sapphire Trim Cards, following the general idea of the November Create single layout sketch (without the rays).scrapbook generation sketch

I then added in lots of layers under the pictures with the Paper House Baseball Diecut Sticker Pack, with the various baseballs cut up and tucked under the pictures. I then added in extra stickers to enhance the layout with titles and subtitles, also replacing the stars in the sketch with various Paper House baseball stickers, including some of the Paper House Baseball Canvas Art, 3D Baseball Stickers, and Baseball 2 Cardstock Stickers. Here are some close-up shots of the layout. Just check out the detail on these Paper House stickers!
