There is a secret pocket in this card:

It holds this tag/bookmark made with one of the Gatsby journal cards, and puffy stickers:

Chillaxin

What a cutie, right? These Paper House Just Chillin’ 3D Stickers are super cute for everyday cards.

A few rhinestones add a little bling, but notice those rub-ons... the "hi" and the large snowflake are from the Colorways Orchid Collection rub-ons.

Here’s another card with a diecut center and a pretty Paper House snowflake paper peeking out:

chilly

I added some fussy cut snowflakes from the paper, foam taped them around the frame, and added some Stickles to give them a little extra sparkle.

For this last card, I used almost all 3D Stickers from the Just Chillin’ set.

The penguin’s snowy little hill is just a couple of pieces of cardstock, torn and foam taped, and again, a little Stickles for sparkle.waddlin2

Make Your Own Envelope!

Posted on Dec 7, 2015 9:43:49 AM

Hello everyone, Francesca here!

Today I want to show you one of my favorite envelopes... the policy envelope!

Envelopes- Francesca Biancon

I love to use this size; it’s lovely and original. If you want to make one, you can follow the attached layout. Just print it like this without changes, or you can reduce or enlarge, as you prefer.

Envelopes- Francesca Biancon

In this particular case, you need only 8x8 paper! I used the beautiful green papers of the Emerald ColorWays Collection; I love how bright the colors are.

For the first one, I simply added the puffy stickers.

For the second one, I glued paper flowers and added a SnapShots™ sticker.

The card inside of both is very simple: a SnapShots™ sticker and ink splatters. I love this effect!

Live by Faith

Posted on Dec 3, 2015 8:42:25 AM

Hello everyone, Christine here! Paper House isn’t new to making faith-based papers and stickers, and I have always loved using them. They are great for home decor, cards, layouts... you name it! Today, I am going to share a layout and card with you that I made with their newest Live by Faith Collection, which includes patterned papers, cardstock stickers, and Sculpted™ puffy stickers, too! First up is a layout I created with it.

faith_collection

I didn’t scrapbook about a specific event for this layout but focused on what I want for my children. I picked a couple of pictures of them as a group from a time when they had been having fun together. I used the Faith Sculpted™ Stickers that said faith, hope, and love to help communicate that. I also used some stickers from the Live by Faith Cardstock set.

faith_collection_2

The background paper is beautiful, but I wanted to add some texture to it. I decided to add some long lines of hand stitching to accomplish that.

faith_card

This collection makes beautiful cards! My starting point was with the lighthouse pocket page piece.

faith_card_2

The collection includes a 12" x 12" sheet of 3" x 4" pieces that are perfect for either pocket pages or cards. I built the card up from there, including several cardstock stickers and some additional patterned paper to break things up. I topped the whole thing off with some enamel dots and baker's twine.

Keep your eye out for this collection in your local big box stores—I’ve seen it in mine! You will love playing with it when you get your chance!

Reason for the Season

Posted on Nov 3, 2015 8:53:05 AM

Christine joining you today with a video tutorial for creating a great card. Adding extra dimension to a card can be done with some neat folding techniques that aren't too complicated. Today I am going to show you one using the ColorWays Rouge Collection!

season1

To make this card, you will want to gather the following supplies: a 1½" circle punch (or use an electronic cutting machine to cut several), an A2 size card base (4¼" x 5½") folded vertically, one sheet of the Rouge Sculpted Entry paper from the ColorWays Rouge Collection, the Reason for the Season 3D Stickers, and some ribbon. Here’s a brief video on how I folded the circles on the card.

As you can see, it isn’t very complicated. I think one of the trickiest parts is picking out a good paper to do it with! This one worked really well! As you choose papers, you have to watch out for stripes and things that may look like they need to line up.

season3

With the second side of my paper choice being tone-on-tone, it worked really well for the inside squares that show up!

season2

For the last part of the card, I added a sentiment that is in the shape of a half circle. I like the way it plays off the other semicircles in the card. Just about any 3D sentiment can work really well for this project! It also helps cover up any rough edges. Top the whole thing off with a pretty bow, and you have a striking and elegant card!

Theme Week: Spooky Cards

Posted on Sep 25, 2015 9:00:00 AM

Hello everyone, Karen here! Here are some super easy Halloween cards that were really fast to create. These cards have just the right amount of spooky while still remaining cute.

Jack O' Lantern Card- Karen Sessions

Jack O' Lantern Card- Karen SessionsProducts Used:

Paper House ColorWays Noir Ironworks Scrapbook Paper
Paper House ColorWays Noir Accent Pack
Paper House Jack O' Lantern Puffy Stickers
Distress Ink: Spiced Marmalade
Sponge Applicator
Sentiment

Directions: Framed Jack O' Lanterns
1. Apply Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink to ColorWays Ironworks paper. Using a sponge applicator, begin at the edge of the paper and rub lightly in a circular motion to blend the ink. Always start at the edge and gradually move towards the center of the paper so that the intensity of color fades to a lighter shade. Your goal is to achieve a gradient of color.
2. Attach your inked paper to the card base and then trim away any excess overhanging paper. Adhere a diecut frame to the middle of the card using foam tape and add the puffy Jack O' Lantern trio to the center.
3. Finally, embellish the layout with a Halloween sentiment.

(TIP: If you are new to inking, build your confidence by trying this technique on a scrap bit of paper so that you can practice the ink application method.)

Card Making Day: Clean and Simple Cards by Susie

Posted on Sep 16, 2015 9:00:00 AM

Hello, Susie here!

Back in June, each member of the Paper House Design Team shared some wonderful card ideas. I went a little crazy and designed several cards featuring the SnapShots™ embellishments. They were clean, simple, and super fast to make! It made me wonder what cards I could create using some of the beautifully shaped 3D Stickers from Paper House. Here’s what I came up with using stickers, stencils, inks, and stamps from my stash!

The first card uses a 3D cross sticker from the Strong/Courageous 3D Sticker set. I added a self-adhesive rhinestone on the cross before adhering it on top of the stenciled background.

Cross Card Susie Bentz

I absolutely adore this little guy from the Robot 3D Stickers! He looks perfect on top of the stenciled gears in the background.

This card features the chalks from the Art 3D Title Stickers:

The Sweet Birthday Girl 3D Sticker set actually has four cupcakes to choose from, and any of them would look great on this card:

For this last card, I actually used a Puffy Sticker from the Wizard of Oz Puffy Stickers:

Here’s a close-up that shows the depth of the sticker—beautiful shine on those ruby red slippers!

Jungle Animals Gatefold card

Posted on Aug 11, 2015 11:25:00 AM

Hello everyone, Karen here! I used mainly two papers to construct this gatefold card: Into the Wild and Jungle Friends. I fussy cut around the animals and then used the remaining paper to create the background scenes. Both inside flaps were made with a 6" sheet from the Little Animals pad. I used foam mounting tape to raise the elephant's and the monkey's heads on the front of the card, as well as some jungle leaves and the bird.

On the inside of the card, I cut around the lower portion of the elephant's ear and carefully inserted a bit of foam tape to lift it, giving it more dimension. The elephant and sun overhang the edge of the card. To make the animals a bit friendlier, I added pink cheeks to them using chalk. Finally, I added some additional leaves made with a small paper punch to bring a unifying element to all the scenes.
