Off the Page: Family Mini Album

Posted on Aug 27, 2015 9:57:34 AM

Hello, Paper House lovelies! It's Karyn here today, sharing an off the page project and another process video.

This week on the PH blog is all about off the page projects. To join in the celebrations, I've made a mini album of our family.

Famly Mini Album- Karyn SchultzI started with a set of six chipboard disks that I covered with paper from the Blossom Paper Pad. I then painted around the edge of each disk with white paint. Once this was thoroughly dry (overnight is best), I started with the decorating.

I kept my choice of embellishments to a minimum, using Cork'd™ Stickers from the Butterflies, Meant to Be, and Live, Laugh, Love packs, the Happy Moment Rub-On Transfers, and the Nature SnapShots™ Stickers.

Famly Mini Album- Karyn SchultzThe photos were all taken at a family photo shoot. I printed them in black and white, and each is approx 2" x 2". Famly Mini Album- Karyn Schultz

Having a limited embellishment collection meant a reduced decision-making process—and an achievable project!

Famly Mini Album- Karyn SchultzI also added a selection of pearls around some of the photos! Famly Mini Album- Karyn Schultz

The black and white photos work well with the brighter papers in this collection. Famly Mini Album- Karyn Schultz

Finally, I added some ribbons around the clip at the top to soften the look and finish it off! Famly Mini Album- Karyn Schultz

Products Used:

Paper House Blossom Paper Pad
Paper House Meant to Be Cork'd™ Stickers
Paper House Nature SnapShots™ Stickers
Paper House Butterflies Cork'd™ Stickers
Paper House Live, Laugh, Love Cork'd™ Stickers

I also made a fabulous video to show you the whole process! Take a look!

Happy crafting!

Karyn xx

What's A Wedding Without Tons of Photos!?

Posted on Mar 24, 2015 9:31:20 AM

Paper House Wedding Hop

Welcome to day three of our wedding week! We think that one of the most important things you can take away from your wedding are the photos! Many times, you will have hundreds of beautiful photos. Today's projects show you how you can incorporate a LOT of photos into your project in a beautiful way! Design team members Giorgia and Irit really outdid themselves!

We also think that a handmade card is a huge deal in the sea of shelf-bought cards you get on your wedding day. Why not make the happy couple a custom card!? Design team member Francesca shows us how easy and beautiful that can be!

Giorgia used our To Have & To Hold Collection (along with come ColorWays) to make a beautiful mini album from ONE piece of scrapbook paper. We thought that sounded inpossible, too, but she included a video to show you how!

Wedding Mini Album - Giorgia Rossini

Wait until you see the inside of this amazing album! The colored elements on the cover are from Giorgia's wedding invitation! What a great idea!

Irit's son was married a few years ago, and she still has tons of photos to scrap! Her layout using the Wedding Day collection shows you how beautiful a layout can be when you make the photos the focal point!

Wedding Day- Irit Shalom

Irit did an amazing job combining all of these photos with the perfect embellishments!

We LOVE this grouping of stickers! Look how she hung the dress from the title sticker! So cute!

Now for Francesca's fabulous card and envelope!

Two Become One Card- Francesca Biancon

Isn't this card just fabulous!? Francesca said that she didn't want to use too many embellishments because the paper was so beautiful. We totally agree! The To Have & To Hold collection has some really iconic images that just scream wedding!

This corner of the card is too beautiful! LOVE how she curled up the edge to peek the flowers through.

Seen & Noted Italia - Introducing DT Member Wendy Morris

Posted on Apr 3, 2014 12:50:32 PM

Today we're so excited to be featuring the first project from one of our new design team members!
We'd love to introduce to you: Wendy Morris

Wendy is a Southern girl, born and raised, and has been scrapbooking for 17 years! We are slightly obsessed with her mixed media style and her first project has us craving more! Her work makes you do a double take and catch details you didn’t see the first time. Join me in welcoming this wondeful artist to our team!

Here is her first project, “Seen & Noted…Italia”

Have you ever been to Italy? If you haven't, you're about to. Let us, and our design team member Wendy, bring you on a beautifully illustrated walk through Italia.

Seen & Noted Italia Front CoverWendy was inspired by our new Italy Collection, but really, we are the ones inspired by her! She says, “The papers are truly of old world charm depicting the Italian countryside with the essence of rich history, family, sights, sounds, and of course amazing tastes of such a romantic country. These collections made the foundation for developing my project, “Seen & Noted…Italia”.”

Seen & Noted Detail 1

Seen & Noted Detail 3

Seen & Noted Detail 4She has a great eye for composition and her mixed media skills are out of this world. We love the use of the Rome 3D Stickers above.

Seen & Noted Detail 4The above paper is from our At the Vineyard paper pad. Nothing say Italy like wine and adventure!

Seen & Noted Detail 5
The rich colors of our Il Duomo paper are so beautiful Wendy used it on it's own. We love the torn edges.

Seen & Noted Detail 6

Seen & Noted Detail 7The butterflies on this spread are our puffy butterflies. Isn't the use of the one dimensional butterflies with the puffy a great effect?!

Seen & Noted Detail 8

Seen & Noted Detail 9No one leaves Italy hungry! Food and wine just go together, just like our cardstock stickers and Vino paper!

Seen & Noted Detail 10
If we're taking you on a tour of Italy, you might as well know a few key Italian phrases to impress your friends. Salute is an Italian expression that translates to God bless. It's mostly used as a toast.Seen & Noted Detail 11 Seen & Noted Detail 12Seen & Noted Detail 13Seen & Noted Detail 14

Seen & Noted Detail 15

We love the Italian Marble paper and her use of typography in the layout on the left. Sometimes great images don't need text and sometimes great text doesn't need a photo.

What's a tour of Italy with going to the Coliseum in Rome? Her use of our cardstock Coliseum and cardstock Italian flag really make you feel like you've been there!

Seen & Noted Detail 2 Don't you just LOVE the pop of pink with the butterfly?

Seen & Noted Detail 23Her layouts are so timeless and unexpected. Wendy has several more travel books on her blog. Stop by and give her some amore and let her know her work is just bellissimo! (see what we did there, more Italian to impress your friends)
